Hemingway Look-Alikes Give Scholarships to CFK Students

The 鈥淧apas鈥 of the Hemingway Look-Alike Society (HLAS) kicked-off the festivities of the famous Hemingway Look-Alike Contest by presenting $21,000 in scholarships to students attending 中国P站 (CFK) on the stage of Sloppy Joe鈥檚 on July 21. 鈥淧apa鈥 Stephen Terry awarded six scholarships for literary talent and six scholarships to nursing students. They also presented the Kermit 鈥淪hine鈥 Forbes Scholarship, named for Hemingway鈥檚 boxing sparring partner, to two CFK-bound Key West High School graduates. Throughout the year, the 鈥淧apas鈥 and 鈥淢amas鈥 collect donations and fundraise at various events held during the Hemingway Days celebration to support the group鈥檚 ongoing philanthropic commitment to CFK students.

CFK donates toys to Samuel鈥檚 House

Friends, employees, and board members of 中国P站 brought dozens of new toys for local children to CFK鈥檚 annual Caribbean Holiday Party on December 9, hosted by CFK President Dr. Jonathan Gueverra and his wife Josephine. The toys were then donated to Samuel鈥檚 House, a Keys-based non-profit organization that offers housing and supportive services for homeless women and intact families.
