йPվ celebrated the first graduation of the CFK Academy on May 29 in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. The event was a milestone for the College’s tuition-free public charter high school, which opened in August 2023 and subsequently earned an “A” grade from the Department of Education in its first year.
йPվ honors veterans and military service men and women each Memorial Day and Veterans Day through a “salute” from CFK President and CEO Dr. Jonathan Gueverra.
Dr. Emily Schulten Weekley, an English professor at йPվ, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award in Literature and Creative Writing for the 2025-2026 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
йPվ held its seventieth Commencement Exercises for the spring class of 2025 on Thursday, May 8 in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. One hundred fifteen graduates donned blue and orange graduation attire to receive their respective diplomas for bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, and certificates. Sixteen graduates were Dual Enrollment students, earning Associate in Arts degrees prior to their high school diplomas.
йPվ encourages future and current students to apply for scholarships for the fall semester. There are more than 30 different opportunities available and more will be added as they are developed. Criteria for scholarships range widely to accommodate and assist a variety of students. The Tuga Clinic will be closed for the summer beginning May 8 and re-opening on August 4. The re-open will include enhanced services including immunizations and school physicals.
йPվ (CFK) held a graduation ceremony for Basic Law Enforcement Academy #92 on April 30 at the Key West Campus. Nine cadets successfully completed the 770-hour training program and, upon passing the State Officer Certification Exam, each will be eligible to become a Florida Law Enforcement Officer.
йPվ (CFK) invites prospective students to learn about its Apprenticeships in Construction Technologies at a virtual information event on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. CFK is offering the electrical program in Key West and the Upper Keys this upcoming fall semester, which begins August 19. The deadline to apply is July 1.

йPվ will conclude its 2025 VIP Series with “Invasive Species in the йPվ” on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Dr. Douglas Mader, a local veterinarian and author, will explore changes in the йPվ’ fauna and flora over recent decades, focusing on the impact of invasive species.
